Uma Bharti celebrates Diwali with ITBP jawans

Union Minister for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Uma Bharti celebrated Diwali with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) jawans at Maatli in Uttarkashi district on Sunday.

Before reaching the ITBP camp at Maatli, she went to the Gangotri shrine and performed Deepdaan at the Bhagirathi river. She said the country was standing strongly behind the soldiers of the country. The Union Minister stayed overnight at the Yamnotri shrine and left for Kedarnath shrine this morning. —TNS
