Urmila Singh was accorded a warm send-off on Monday, as she left the Raj Bhawan after the completion of her five-year term as the Governor of Himachal Pradesh.
An emotional Urmila Singh thanked the Raj Bhawan staff and people of Himachal for her pleasant stay in the state. She said she would always treasure the pleasant memories of the beautiful hill state. A guard of honour was given to the Governor.
CM Virbhadra Singh congratulated her on the successful completion of her tenure and wished her a happy and prosperous life ahead.
He said the people of the state would always remember her for her impressive personality and kind nature. Earlier, the Governor hosted “At Home” at Raj Bhawan on Republic Day.
Urmila, who was the 18th Governor of the state and fourth women Governor, was among the three Governors who completed full five-year term at the Raj Bhawan. Cabinet Ministers Kaul Singh Thakur and Thakur Singh Bharmouri, former Governor of Nagaland Ashwini Kumar, CPS Nand Lal, MLAs, Chairman HP Public Service Commission KS Tomar and a host of other dignitaries were present.

R'sthan Guv arrives, says happy to be in Dev Bhoomi
Shimla: Rajasthan Governor Kalyan Singh, who has been given the additional charge of HP, arrived here late on Tuesday evening. He said he was very happy to be in Dev Bhoomi as per the responsibility entrusted on him by the President. He will take oath as the Governor of Himachal on Wednesday. He was to land at the Jubbarhatti airport in the afternoon, but foggy conditions prevented the landing of his aircraft. He flew back to Chandigarh and travelled by road. "It feels very nice to be here," he said, on his arrival at the Raj Bhawan. He has been given the additional charge of Himachal till a permanent appointment is not made.— TNS
