Increasing cases of vehicle thefts have been reported from various parts of Dehradun district. In a recent case thieves stole a bike from the compound of a house at Rishikesh. The victim Sahil Johar has filed a case about the theft at Rishikesh police station of his bike, which was stolen from his compound at night. The police have started investigations.
Two drug dealers arrested: The police have arrested two drug dealers with smack from Sahaspur area of Dehradun district. According to the police, two suspected persons were caught by the patrolling team at Paunta graveyard near Sahaspur. During the checking police found 11 gm of smack from them. Both the drug dealers, Mohammed Adil and Mohammed Asif have been sent to jail.
Bhojanmata protest: Members of the Bojanmata Kamgar Union continued their protest under the banner of CITU here today at the Directorate of Education on the 15th day. During the protest Bhojanmata members hold a meeting in which they discussed about the future planning of their protest. District secretary of CITU Lekhraj said that if the government failed to fulfil their demands soon then they will intensify their protest. During the protest Roshni Bisht, Vijaya Danagwal, Geeta Thapa, Rajni Rawat, Sunita Devi and Suman Devi were also present.
Police officials transferred: The Police Department has transferred two more officers to General Railway Police (GRP). Girish Chandra Tamta of Nanital head office has been transferred to the GRP, Haridwar. He will now look after the work at GRP, Dehradun, Haridwar, Laksar, Rorkee and Rishikesh stations, whereas Lokjeet Singh was transferred from Haridwar to GRP, Haldwani, where he will look after the areas of Kathgodam, Lal Kuwa, Kashipur and Ramnagar stations. ---TNS
