Verka, the flagship brand of MILKFED Punjab, today launched a 10-gram blister packing of butter.
Verka has reportedly imported a machine from Italy for Rs 4.30 crore that facilitates packing 10-gram butter. The packing was launched by MILKFED Additional Managing Director SR Saini; General Manager Harminder Singh Sandhu, and board of directors of Verka Milk Plant here.
Saini told the media that the blister packing of 10 grams would help Verka in competing with other brands in the market. He said that with the introduction of the new pack, MILKFED would now focus on supplying to five star hotels, airlines, and Railways. “This packing is completely spill proof and fully pasteurised,” he said.
Saini said once the butter is fed into the new machine, it blister packs the butter which could be stored in the house without any spillage. He said the packing would be beneficial for parents who want their children to consume butter during lunch time in schools as the 10-gram packing could be put easily in their lunch boxes.
Sandhu said that the 10-gram packing was available in the market for only Rs 5. He said the organisation was already in talks with the Railways, airlines and five stars for supplying the new packing. He said the consumption of butter and other milk products was necessary for the growth of children and Verka was a preferred brand.
