Vikas Garg elected CII council chairman

Dehradun, March 17

Vikas Garg and Dr Vijay Dhasmana were elected chairman and vice-chairman, respectively, of the Confederation of Indian industry (CII), Uttarakhand State Council, for 2017-18, at the annual session of the CII held here today.

Garg, an engineering graduate, is the Managing Director of Forace Polymers (P) Ltd that is one of the largest manufacturers of phenolic resins in India. He has the privilege of being the youngest president of the Institute of Indian Foundry (IIF) during 2014-15. The IIF is a national body of the Indian foundry industry at the global level. It serves about 5,000 foundries through its 26 chapters.

Dhasmana is the Director of Best Fortune Construction (I) Pvt Ltd and Vice-Chancellor of Swami Rama Himalayan University at Jolly Grant, Dehradun. He was born in Toli village in Pauri Garhwal in 1968. He has a masters degree in computer science from the University of London, United Kingdom. He has also done Ph.D. in mathematics from Rohilkhand University.

He was appointed treasurer of the Himalayan Institute Hospital Trust in 1994 at an early age of 26 years. Dhasmana has taken the organisation to greater heights year after year.
