Chandigarh, April 6

Trader Anil Vohra today filed his nomination papers for the post of president of the Chandigarh Beopar Mandal (CBM).

Today was the last day of filing nominations. Yesterday, Kailash Jain had filed his nomination papers.

Now, Vohra and Jain will contest against each other for the post of president during the elections on April 17.

Election officer Satpal Gupta said candidates could withdraw their nomination.

The Tribune, now published from Chandigarh, started publication on February 2, 1881, in Lahore (now in Pakistan). It was started by Sardar Dyal Singh Majithia, a public-spirited philanthropist, and is run by a trust comprising five eminent persons as trustees.
