The Ras Kala Manch, Safidon, staged a Hindi play, “Doosra Aadmi, Doosri Aurat”, on the second day of the ongoing festival, “Adakariyan -2017”. The festival has been organised by the Adakar Manch, Mohali, at the Randhawa auditorium.
Written by well-known Maithili author Vibha Rani and directed by Ravi Mohan, the play highlights some explosive truths about the marital life, especially when stagnation and monotony hits a happy relationship.
The play revolved around lives of a corporate executive, Sambhav Singh, played by director Ravi Mohan, and Shoma Dass, played by Madhudeep Singh. Monotony creeps into their married lives. But the loneliness pervading their minds despite hectic life schedules inspires both of them to seek solace through personal interactions, sometimes natural or at times managed. The play operated at different levels, bringing into focus the social responsibility of a family and family traditions and the sacred institution of marriage. The play offered a close analysis of situations and factors leading to differences of opinion and breaking up of relations.
