Mussoorie, April 7
Meena Negi, widow of an employee of Mussoorie Modern School situated near Library Bazaar here, has filed a police complaint against the school management for non-payment of the dues of her late husband despite several reminders. The school has been closed for unknown reasons.
Meena in her complaint filed at Mussoorie police station stated that her husband Surendar Negi worked in Mussoorie Modern School as a warden for the past nine years. However, school directors SP Khanna, Bhagwan Singh Rawat, Grudeep Singh, Romi Khanna, BK Khanna, Rajiv Prakash, Ritu Khanna and Rajat Kapoor sacked him on November 22 last year without serving a show cause notice on him.
Surendar Negi was under severe depression after losing the job and died due to brain hemorrhage on February 7. The school directors are not paying his dues to his widow even after repeated pleas. Leaders of the Indian Trade Union Congress (INTUC) had also met the school directors but returned with empty assurances. The trade union leaders said Negi’s bereaved family members were facing immense difficulties but the school management was not paying the money.
