On a visit to his hometown, Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar announced to open a training institute for scheduled caste students aspiring to clear IAS, IPS, HCS and HPS exams.

Khattar also declared to name a university in the state after Dr BR Ambedkar. While addressing a gathering at a function organised to mark the 125th birth anniversary year of Dr Ambedkar at Sector-16 in the city, the CM promised to contest the case of reservation in promotion strongly in court, so the stay could be lifted.

Khattar laid the foundation stone of Ambedkar Bhawan and announced to waive off the interest of over Rs4 lakh on the passing of the building map and directed the DC to complete the formalities so the construction work could begin.

Reacting on the demand of sabha president Amar Singh, Khattar announced to name a road on the name of Babasaheb.

Earlier, at Hotel Noor Mahal, Khattar inaugurated the 300th branch of HDFC Bank in Haryana at Ramnagar in Karnal. He also interacted with party workers there and heard their grievances.

Reacting over the demands of the workers to open extra windows at e-disha centres, he directed the DC to do so.

Power looms to be ‘established’ in jail

Khattar announced to establish power looms in the Karnal Jail so that the inmates could learn how to weave and get work after they were released from here. While paying a visit, Khattar was informed about the steps taken by the jail authorities for the betterment of inmates.
