The 2nd Inter-School ‘Negotium Agon’ business festival was held at Sir Kirby Laing Auditorium of Wynberg Allen School here on Saturday.
Kartik Taneja, head of Channel Sales, Google India, was the guest of honour at the occasion.
This year’s competition was divided into three categories, namely business quiz, simulation act and ‘sponsor your click’ competition. In the quiz competition, four schools qualified for the final round after the elimination. The finalists were The Lawrence School, Sanawar, Waverly Convent, Mussoorie, Welham Boys and Aryan School, Dehradun.
Welham Boys School, Dehradun, was declared the winner while The Lawrence School, Sanawar, was the 1st runners up.
The schools that took part in the simulation act contest were St Joseph’s Academy, The Aryan School, Carman School, Unison World School, Hilton School, Ecole Globale, Dehradun, CJM Waverly Convent, Mussoorie, The Lawrence School, Sanawar, Modern School, Delhi, and the host school, Wynberg Allen. However, the host school kept themselves out of the competition.
The theme for the simulation act was “Amherst Island – wind power turbine”. Welham Boys School, Dehradun, won the competition. The Lawrence School, Sanawar, stood second.
In the ‘sponsor your click’ competition, various schools presented a four-minute skit advertising their product. Welham Boys’ was declared the winner in this competition too. Ecole Globale, Dehradun, was the 1st runners up. The Lawrence School, Sanawar was declared the overall winner while Welham Boys School stood second.
The judges for the events were Anand Prakash, an alumnus of the school, and Sandeep Sahni, director, Uttarakhand Tourism Development Board.
Speaking on the occasion, chief guest Taneja gave students tips to make an effective presentation. He gave away prizes to the winners.
Principal L Tindale congratulated students for their excellent performance and enthusiastic participation in the business festival.
