Wynberg Allen School, Mussoorie, lifted the 7th Mrs West Memorial Inter-School Invitational Girls Swimming trophy 2016. The two-day meet was hosted by Wynebrg-Allen School, Mussoorie, in memory of Mrs West, the first principal of the school from 1888 to 1895. The Lawrence School, Sanawar, was declared the first runners up in the competition.
In the sub-junior division, Sasirintra Gulati from Wynberg Allen was declared the champion, Pavit Sidhu in the junior girls division from The Lawrence School in intermediate girls division, Ishita Bhargava of Welham Girls’ and in the senior girls division Shania O’Connor of Wynberg were declared overall champions.
Simrina Loona, Saranya Loona, Prisha, Jayavantika, Ustak and Samaara of Lawrance School Sanawar, Ishita, Amber and Anushka from Welham Girls’ Dehradun, Pari, Gurnas, Peehu and Rupal from Hopetown School, Vaibhavi and Prashansa of The Asian School, Satita, Pitchapon of Mussoorie International School gave a good account of themselves in the competition and won a number of medals for their schools in respective divisions.
Six schools from Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh participated in a two-day event hosted by Wynberg-Allen School, Mussoorie.
Headmaster Senior School P Radcliffe gave away certificates and medals to the winners. Principal L Tindale in his massage congratulated all the winners and thanked all the schools for their participation. He also thanked the swimming coach Samandar Singh and Suman Singh for successfully organising the meet. Raghubir Singh, swimming coach of the Asian School, Swati, Anil Choudhary and coaches of the host school were present on the occasion.
