Leading rapper and singer Yo Yo Honey Singh kept his fans and audience waiting for nearly two-and-a-half hours here last evening, but compensated it by giving a power-packed performance.
He was scheduled to visit the Government College for Girls at 8 pm last evening, but Yo Yo reached at 10:20 pm. He had come for the promotion of his upcoming Punjabi movie “Zoravar”, which will be released all over on May 6.
Fans, including children, had to wait for their favourite rapper in the lawns, where there was no proper seating arrangement or fans even.
Limited seats were kept for the audience and barricading was done with bamboos a few meters away. A good number of people gathered near the barricades to get the glimpse of the singer. Many of these visitors were drunk as there was no proper check at the entry point. Though policemen were standing to keep a tab on visitors, mismanagement was witnessed during the entire event. Several fans were seen arguing with bouncers and policemen to let them enter the venue.
Sukhwinder Kaur, an ardent fan of Honey Singh, said she had requested her cousin to accompany her. “But since it was already two hours late, we had to leave as it is not safe for girls to reach back late,” she said.
As soon as the singer arrived, the audience heaved a sigh of relief. He gave his power-packed performance during the “Zorawar” promotional tour organised by PTC Punjabi and PTC Motion Pictures in association with Aryans Group of Colleges, Chandigarh.
Honey Singh was accompanied by VJ-turned actress Gurbani Judge (Bani J), acclaimed veteran actor Pawan Malhotra, Roshan Prince, Ranjit Bawa, Alfaaz, Gagan Kokri, Kaur B and Harsimran among others.
He performed on songs including “Raat Jashan Di”, “Superman” from his forthcoming film “Zorawar” along with several of his famous numbers such as “Love Dose”.
The movie has been directed by Vinnil Markan. Zoravar is a story of a man in search of his father, whom he has never seen and met, whose love he missed all his life, and a father he does not know exists.
