Ludhiana, May 8
Kulwant Kaur, a resident of Nirankari Mohalla, Millar Ganj, has lodged a complaint with the Division Number 2 police against a person who duped her of gold rings and cash in broad daylight.
According to the complainant, she was on the way to Gurdwara Pheruman, Millar Ganj, when a person, who was about 45 years of age, told her that senior citizens were being provided Rs 3,000 at Hira Singh Gabria’s office (SAD leader and former minister). He asked the woman to fill in a form if she wanted the money.
The con man took her to Pratap Chowk Mandi. He then asked the woman to remove her gold ornaments and keep everything in her purse as there would be a huge crowd at the Gabria’s office. The woman removed her two gold rings and put them in her purse and handed over it to the con man. After some time, the con man returned the purse to the woman, saying that he was going to get a form.
When the person did not return after a long time, the woman checked the purse and found the gold rings and cash missing. — TNS
