Court fines Mohali resident Rs3,000

Chandigarh, January 2

A local court today came down heavily on a Mohali resident, who was challaned for drunken driving twice in the last one month.

The court imposed a fine of Rs 3,000 on Amandeep Singh, the traffic rule offender. He was challaned by the UT police on the New Year’s Eve when he was found driving under the influence of alcohol. As the violator came to the court to get his challan released, it was found that he was challaned for the same offence last month too. The court imposed a fine on him and let him off with a warning. — TNS
