The Court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Anshu Shukla today allowed the application to conduct the bone ossification test of the victim in a molestation case involving her dance teacher as the accused.

Last week, the counsel for the accused had moved an application seeking court’s permission to get the bone ossification test of the victim done to ascertain her correct age.

The counsel had urged the court to get the doctor who had assessed the medical age of the victim, examined in the court. The counsel claimed the victim might not be a minor as claimed by the prosecution.

It was stated that as per the medical assessment, she was born in 1998. However, she may have been born in 1996 also according to the bone ossification test, claimed the counsel.

The victim, who is a student of a prominent school in the city has already identified Akash, a resident of Panchkula, in the court and accused him of molesting and sexually assaulting her in the previous hearing. As per the complaint, she had stated that the accused extorted money from her by claiming that he had objectionable pictures of hers. He also made physical contact and made unwelcome advances and explicit sexual overtures.

Akash is a dance teacher and was arrested earlier this year for blackmailing and extorting money from the schoolgirl. The victim used to learn dance at Akash’s academy in Sector 44.
