Arpit Sharma, a resident of Sector 4, Panchkula, had complained that on August 23, he placed an order for customised clothing i.e. daisy days shirt and black gauge suit for Rs.23,997. The order was received on September 17, 2015 at the IIT, Roorkee, by the complainant through a courier after paying Rs 2,000. On September 19, 2015, he noticed that the suit was not stitched as per specifications after which he lodged a complaint through an e-mail.

Consequently, he received a reply through an e-mail, which failed to satisfy him.

Finally, he sent a notice to the firm but to no avail. “...after two days of the receiving the suit, the complainant brought the defects to the knowledge of the opposite parties through an e-mail. He has even placed on record photographs of the suit, which depict bends and creases on the suit. The photographs further show inappropriate length of the arms of both suit and shirt. Thus, the documentary evidence produced by the complainant is sufficient to conclude that the suit was not properly stitched by the opposite parties,” said the court order.
