The demand for a separate Bench of the Punjab and Haryana High Court in south Haryana has gained momentum in the Ahirwal region after Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar raised the issue in Delhi yesterday.
Now, former MLA Raghu Yadav, social outfit ‘Nyaya Aapke Dwar’ convener Naresh Chauhan and SUCI’s state executive member Rajender Singh have advocated a special HC Bench in south Haryana.
Union Minister of State for Defence Rao Inderjit has already written to the Union Law Ministry for setting up a separate Bench in Gurgaon, Rewari or at some other place. Raghu Yadav said: “A separate Bench in south Haryana will prove beneficial to poor litigants who find it difficult to attend the High Court at Chandigarh because of the lack of cheap, assured and convenient mode of transport,” said Raghu.
Naresh Chauhan said lakhs of poor people residing in the far-flung areas of Haryana always found it beyond their means to approach the High Court in Chandigarh.
Rajender Singh said a separate Bench in south Haryana was the need of the hour. “A Bench of the high court in south Haryana can save the litigants’ precious time and hard-earned money,” added Rajender.
