Bathinda/Jalandhar, Jan 24
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Punjabi singer and Akali leader KS Makhan and Lehra Mohabbat-based owner of Sidhu films Jagsir Sidhu to its zonal office at Jalandhar on January 30 in the Rs 6,000-crore drug racket.
The ED sleuths, it was learnt, would ask both Makhan and Sidhu to explain the source of money generated for their film, “Eh Jugni Kise De Hath Nahi Auni,” produced in 2012 and completed in 2013.
Makhan hails from Shanker village of Jalandhar district. He was booked by the Nakodar police in an NDPS Act case, but was exonerated later by the court in 2006.
Drug racket kingpin Jagdish Bhola had played the role of a villain in the film. Bhola, who is facing a number of NDPS and PMLA cases, was quizzed by the ED in 2014 to know whether he had financed the film or not. In his reply to the ED queries, Bhola had told the ED that he had not made any financial contribution towards the film production.
