The District Legal Services Authority (DLSA), Panchkula, has urged Haryana Tourism Corporation Limited and the Panchkula Deputy Commissioner to exempt senior citizens from paying entry fee at Yadavindra Gardens in Pinjore and provide them a suitable place to hold routine meetings at the garden.
DLSA Secretary and Panchkula Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) Nidhi Bansal took up the matter with the Haryana Tourism Corporation Limited Managing Director and the Deputy Commissioner after senior citizens voiced their grievance before her at a special literacy camp, organised by the DLSA in Pinjore.
At the camp, the senior citizens were made aware about their rights under the Maintenance of Parents and Senior Citizens Act, 2007. The senior citizens complained that there was no place where they could meet and hold a get-together.
Meanwhile, Class X students of Gurukul Global School, Mani Majra visited the office of the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) at District Courts Complex in Panchkula where a workshop was organised for them.
Addressing the students, Nidhi Bansal made them aware about the functioning of the courts, hierarchy and procedure followed by the courts and the role of the DLSA in providing free legal aid to the needy. Bansal told the students about the working and responsibilities of the DLSA. She also told the students about the criteria and grounds on which one could get legal aid.
