Patiala, March 23
After a few cable operators locked the gates of Fastway cable operators in Sanour and Devigarh, Vikas Puri, Fastway director of Patiala, has filed a writ petition in the Punjab and Haryana High Court seeking the opening of the offices.
He has also filed a complaint with the Julkan and Sanour police stations against the men who forcefully locked their offices.
Notably, old cable operators who were running cable in 2006-07 forcefully locked the offices of Fastway cable operators in Sanour and Devigarh towns of Patiala district yesterday.
The matter has reached the respective police stations but no formal complaints were made in this regard. The police had started investigating the matter as the cable operators produced documents in which the property from which Fastway operators are operating continues to stand in the name of previous operators and they are the major stakeholders.
The previous cable operators alleged that as soon as the SAD-BJP government came to power in 2007, their men forcefully acquired all cable services, literally throwing these operators out of their offices.
However, now that the Congress has come to power, they decided to take back their properties considering that they were shareholders in the cable services, which led to today’s incident.
Meanwhile, Vikas Puri refuted the allegations and claimed that about three-four cars came to their offices yesterday and forcefully locked their offices. “This is illegal. Therefore, I have brought the matter to the notice of the SSP who has assured us that our offices would be handed over to us soon”.
