Chandigarh, July 27
The Punjab and Haryana High Court today stayed the written test for selecting 646 PTI teachers.
The directions by the Bench of Justice Jaswant Singh came on a bunch of petitions filed against the State of Punjab and other respondents by Sarbdyal Singh and other petitioners through counsel Puneet Jindal, Sunny Singla and Sakshi.
The Bench was told during the preliminary hearing of the case that the selection committee unilaterally provided for a written test of 200 marks for selection to 646 advertised posts of PTI.
It was done without any requirement of the rule, advertisement or authorisation. Taking up the matter, Justice Jaswant Singh also fixed September 26 as the next date of hearing in the case.
