High Court grants ad-interim bail to CDLU professor

The Punjab and Haryana High Court today granted ad-interim bail to Mukesh Kumar Garg, an assistant professor in the Law Department of Chaudhary Devi Lal University (CDLU), in a case of criminal intimidation and deterring public servant from duty filed against him and two others.

The case was filed by Neelam Singh, Deputy Superintendent of Police in the Special Crime Branch of the CBI. The case of two others, Satyawan Dalal and Rajneesh Ahlawat, both assistant professors in Public Administration and Management Departments of the university, respectively, has been fixed for hearing on Wednesday.

Justice Naresh Kumar Sanghi, who heard Mukesh’s anticipatory bail plea, today also issued a notice of motion for the case for September 18. — TNS
