The Court of Chief Judicial Magistrate Anubhav Sharma imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 on an accused who confessed to his crime before the court.
The accused, Deepak Kumar Pandey, was arrested by the Cyber Crime Investigation Cell (CCIC) of the UT Police in April last year for allegedly sending obscene messages to an elderly resident of the city on WhatsApp.
The accused was a resident of Nepal and worked as a helper in a shop in Delhi. He was arrested and remained in jail for 10 days.
The CJM, Anubhav Sharma, released the accused after convicting him and imposed a fine of Rs 5,000 upon him after he confessed to his crime.
