Man jailed for carrying charas

Kullu, November 24
District and Sessions Judge-cum-Special Judge, Kullu, Prem Lal Ranta today sentenced Hari Narayan of Jaipur to undergo 10 years’ simple imprisonment for the offence punishable under Section 20 of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.
District Attorney Rajesh Kumar Verma said Hari was apprehended by a police party at the Bajaura check-post with 2.5 kg of charas while he was en route in a bus from Manali.
Hari was also fined Rs 1,00,000 and in the event of non payment of fine, he would have to further undergo one-year simple imprisonment.
