2 booked for bank fraud

The police have registered a case of cheating, criminal breach of trust, criminal misappropriation and criminal intimidation against two persons for cheating a bank.

In a complaint to the Sarkaghat police, Kali Jung, branch manager of the Himachal Gramin Bank, Baldwara, on March 2, 2012, Naresh Kumar, a resident of Baldwara, Mandi, and Kiran Kumar Sharma of Mahabir Automobile, Bangrotu, tehsil Sadar, Mandi, a resident of Chandesh, Sarkaghat, applied for a loan amounting Rs 20 lakh to purchase earthmover.

He said both the persons dishonestly misappropriated the money and did not purchase any earthmover from against the sanctioned loan amount.

Sub-Inspector Parveen Kumar said a case under Sections 403, 405, 406, 413, 415, 418, 420 and 506 of the IPC had been registered at the Sarkaghat police station on the complaint and further investigations were on.
