Chandigarh, August 5
Two persons recorded their statements in the sodomy case involving NGO Theatre Age director Zulfiqar Khan here in the court of Additional District And Sessions Judge today.
From the prosecution’s side, Sandeep Pradhan of Sector 25 colony, recorded his statement as a recovery witness while another witness was the photographer of the Chandigarh Police. Sandeep told the court that it was in front of him that the laptop, CDs, spray, bedsheet and other objectionable items were found from Khan’s Sector 25-based office.
The photographer also reported his side of the story regarding the spot pictures he clicked that day. The court is yet to hear five separate bail applications moved by Khan through his counsel. August 12 has been fixed as the next date of hearing.
Later, following the chief statement, Sandeep sought the Judge’s permission to speak and stated that one of the victims who alleged he was kidnapped from the court premises on the day of the hearing was not true. On the day when he alleged of being kidnapped, the boy was with him. However, on this, the prosecution said on that day Sandeep had taken his phone in the court so that his phone’s tower location would not be tracked when he was kidnapped.
Charges have already been framed against Khan who was arrested on July 11 last year from his school in Sector 25, where he used to teach the underprivileged children, based on the complaint of two boys that Zulfiqar forced them to have unnatural sex. After the complaint, the police received three more complaints, including one from a minor, with similar allegations.
