Three students of Punjab Agricultural University have been booked for thrashing girl students and a boy on the university campus. Two of the accused have been identified as Rajwinder Singh Kalyan and Amandeep Singh.
In his complaint, Shiv Charan Singh, a student of the PAU, stated that he, along with two girl students, was sitting on the lawns near Student Home’s Cafe on Tuesday. At around 3:10 pm, the accused reached there and started beating the girls. When he tried to stop them, they thrashed him too.
Major Singh, investigating officer, said Rajwinder had some issue with one of the victim girls. On Tuesday, the saw the girl sitting with her friends near the cafe. Rajwinder thrashed the girl and her friends to settle a score with her”.
On a complaint of Shiv Charan Singh, a case was registered under Sections 354, 323 and 506 at the PAU police station.
“We are investigating the matter after recording the statement of the victims. No arrest has been made so far,” said the investigation officer.
