ASI, 7 others booked for illegal mining

A Haryana Police ASI and seven others have been booked for illegal mining and obstructing police officials from performing their duty.
The FIR was lodged against ASI Sethan Pal posted at Rohtak and seven others on the statement of constable Arshad Ali at Sadar police station.
Sources said the Sadar SHO raided Rano Majra village after getting a tip-off about illegal mining there on Thursday night. When he and other policemen reached there, they found one JCB and three dumpers engaged in illegal mining.
When they started questioning them, ASI Sethan Pal came there in an Alto car and forbade Deepak from taking any action. When Deepak refused to do so, the ASI manhandled him before he and other persons involved in illegal mining managed to flee.
The police registered an FIR and seized the JCB and three dumpers. All accused are at large.
