A young couple was killed when their Maruti Swift car hit a tree 2 km from here on the Fatehabad– Chandigarh road late last evening.

The victims have been identified as Harish (30), a resident of Poharka village near Ellenabad in Sirsa who worked with a private firm at Panipat, and his 28-year-old wife, Suman.

The couple was going towards Poharka when the accident occurred. While Harish died on the spot, Suman succumbed to her injuries in the General Hospital, Fatehabad.
