Hisar, March 22
The police have registered a case of causing death due to negligence against a doctor couple following the death of a pregnant woman at their hospital in December last year. The accused, Dr Rajeev Tanwar and Dr Manisha Tanwar, who run the Tanwar Hospital in Hansi, have been booked under various sections of the IPC.
The case was registered following a complaint by Kulwinder Singh, a resident of Pali village in the district. Kulwinder alleged that his wife, Savita (25), died as Dr Rajeev Tanwar, an orthopaedic surgeon, instead of Dr Manisha Tanwar, a gynecologist, attended his wife when she was admitted for delivery at their clinic on December 29, 2015. However, during the delivery the woman’s condition deteriorated after which she was referred to the Jindal Hospital in Hisar where she died.
The complainant said Dr Manisha Tanwar was not even present in the hospital at the time of the delivery. —TNS
