Day after demolition of a temporary ‘gaushala’ at ‘gaucharan’ land by Bhalsi villagers, uneasy calm prevailed in the village today.
Acting on the complaint of state chief of the Haryana Gaushala Sangh Acharya Yogendra, the district police have registered an FIR against 33 Bhalsi villagers, involving former sarpanch of the village Balwan Singh, under various sections of the IPC and the Animals Cruelty Act. No arrests has been made so far.
Meanwhile, activists of the sangh today again set up a temporary ‘gaushala’ in place of the one demolished yesterday. In his complaint, Acharya Yogendra alleged that several cows and three ‘sevadars’ — Deepak, Surendra and Naveen — were injured in the violence.
Former sarpanch of Bhalsi village Balwan Singh said, “Several outsiders had set up the temporary ‘gaushala’ without the knowledge and consent of the villagers. We have already brought the matter to the notice of the DC, SP and SDM, but to no avail. We removed the ‘gaushala’ as the land belongs to our village.”
Azad Singh Arya, Gaushala sangh vice-president said, “This land is ‘gaucharan’ land. If villagers form a committee to run a ‘gaushala’ here, we will vacate the land.” On the contrary, Luxmi and Shanti, village women, said “A ‘gaushala’ is already being run at a nearby Nara village. This is ‘gaucharan’ land and it is being used for grazing animals.”
Meanwhile, SHO Vipin said, “Both the parties have already submitted their complaints to the DC and the SP regarding the possession of the land. They will take decision on the matter.”
