Man, brother held for wife’s murder

The police arrested a man and his brother for murdering the former’s wife at Mouli village in Raipur Rani here today.
It was after the parents of the victim, Poonam (30), claimed that she was murdered by giving poison that a case under Section 302 (Murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) was registered at the Raipurrani police station.
In the morning, the accused, Munish, victim’s husband and Amit, brother-in-law of the victim, took her to the hospital stating that she consumed poison.
Poonam and Munish got married eight years ago.
After the post-mortem examination confirmed the presence of poison in the body, family members of the victim alleged that the woman was murdered because she was unable to conceive.
The family alleged that the duo intentionally tried to make it look as a case of suicide.
The victim was declared brought dead by doctors at the hospital.
The victim’s post-mortem was conducted at the General Hospital, Sector 6, in Panchkula.
Later, the body was handed over to the family members.
