Man kills son’s wife, commits suicide

Mandi Gobindgarh, June 21
An engineer of the municipal council of Mandi Gobindgarh, Deepak Sapra, in connivance with other members of his family, allegedly shot his daughter-in-law at their house this morning.
The police, on the complaint of victim Meenal’s father, Anil Bhalla, have registered a case against Deepak Sapra, his son Sajan, wife Premlata and daughter. Anil Bhalla said his daughter was being continuously harassed by her in-laws for the past many months.
Fed up of the family feud, Deepak Sapra allegedly killed Meenal. Later, fearing police action, he committed suicide by jumping into the Bhakra mainline canal.
A police team, led by SSP Gurmeet Singh Randhawa and DSP Amloh Manpreet Singh, immediately reached the site and started investigation. SSP Randhawa said the police had recovered Deepak’s body from the canal. Various teams had been sent to different directions to nab the absconding three accused.
