A 15-year-old girl was allegedly raped by a youth on the premises of Kalpana Chawla Government Medical College and Hospital (KCGMCH) here on September 1. The issue came to light on September 3 when security guards of the medical college found her wandering on the premises. They took her to the women police station.
In her complaint to the police, the victim alleged she went to her maternal uncle’s house in Ambala a few days ago. On September 1, Sillu, a neighbour of her uncle, lured her to drop her at her residence in Karnal. Instead, he took her to the KCGMCH where he allegedly raped her. A case under the POCSO Act has been registered against the accused and efforts were on to arrest him. —TNS
