Nabha jailbreak mastermind, 3 accomplices held in Moga

The Nabha jailbreak mastermind, gangster Gurpreet Singh Sekhon, and his three accomplices were today arrested by the police after a brief encounter at Dhudike village in Moga district.
A special team of the counter-Intelligence wing and the Patiala and Moga police took part in the operation that lasted two hours.

Sekhon, who escaped from the Nabha jail on November 27 last year with five others, is facing 13 cases of murder and attempt to murder. A confidant of gangster Vicky Gounder, Sekhon was arrested in March 2015 in connection with a murder case.
The main accused in the murder of gangster Sukha Kahlwan, he was first booked in 2007 under the Arms Act after which he joined hands with the Jaipal gang and later formed his own gang.
Sekhon (29) is a resident of Mudki village in Ferozepur. He belongs to an affluent family which owns 45 acres of land and brick-kilns.
Incharge of the counter-Intelligence team Gurmeet Chauhan, AIG, said Sekhon had been nabbed along with Manveer Singh Sekhon alias Mani Sekhon, Rajwinder Singh Raja alias Sultan of Mangewala village (Moga) and Kulwinder Singh alias Dhimbri of Sidana village.
The Nabha jailbreak was reportedly planned in Rajwinder Raja’s house at Mangewala village in Moga.
Chauhan said, acting on a tip-off, the police raided a hideout at Dhudike village.
The area was cordoned off. After a brief encounter, all gangsters were arrested. Four weapons — two .32 bore revolvers, a .30 bore pistol and a .12 bore gun — were recovered from their possession. A Verna car used by the gangsters was impounded, said Gurpreet Singh Toor, SSP, Moga.
Harminder Singh Minto of the banned Khalistan Liberation Force was nabbed within 24 hours of the jailbreak. On January 17, the Madhya Pradesh police had arrested gangster Kulpreet Singh Neeta Deol of Moga from Indore where he was living as a tenant on a fake identity after his escape from Nabha jail.
The three escapees who are yet to be arrested are Vicky Gounder, Amandeep Singh Dhotian and Kashmir Singh, a terrorist.
The gangsters who freed the jail inmates — Palwinder Singh, Bikkar Singh, Jagatveer Singh and Charanpreet Singh — have already been arrested. The others arrested are Harjot Singh, Gurpreet Singh, Ranjit Singh, Tejinder Sharma, Mohammad Asim, Nabha Jail Assistant Superintendent Bhim Singh and head warder Jagmeet Singh.
