Jagraon, December 8

Unidentified persons who allegedly robbed more than Rs 11 lakh from two employees of a Jagraon-based trading firm were caught on a CCTV camera installed outside a private hospital. The hospital is located at a short distance from the place where the robbery took place. The police have obtained the footage of the CCTV camera.

According to the sources in the police department, the CCTV footage has made it clear that there were three persons who were involved in the robbery that took place on December 6.

“The robbery was executed by three persons who were riding on two motorcycles. After looting the money, the robbers also snatched a Honda Activa from the employees of the trading firm and fled,” said a police officer.

However, the police could not recognise the robbers from the CCTV footage as it was quite dark when the incident took place.

Meanwhile, the police have also recovered the Honda Activa.

The two-wheeler was recovered by the police from the fields outside Kothe Khajooran village located on the outskirts of Jagraon. A team of forensic experts and dog squad also visited the place from where the Honda Activa was recovered.

The police believe that the robbers might have fled towards Ludhiana after the robbery. “The recovery of the two-wheeler snatched during the robbery outside a village near Jagraon indicates that the robbers might have fled towards Ludhiana. We have obtained some other clues about the robbery incident which would be quite helpful in solving this case,” said DSP Jagraon Surinder Kumar.
