The police have booked a sweets manufacturer here for allegedly torturing two minor boys in captivity.

Santosh Kumar of Giridih district, Jharkhand, had migrated to Dharam Nagari here sometime ago and has been preparing sweets in a house under unhygienic environment. He has been booked under Sections 23, 24 and 26 of the Juvenile Act 2000 and 344, 346 and 357 of the IPC on the complaint filed by Rajesh Kumar, Child Security Officer, Fazilka.

The victims— Rahul and Deepak— were rescued by an NGO with the help of police on Monday. The father of one of the victims alleged that his son was kidnapped on his way to school in New Delhi last year. Deepak’s father Ishwer Dass, who reached Abohar today, said they had lodged a police complaint.

He was contacted after Deepak provided information about his parents.
