DAV boys set up title clash with GMSSS-23

Chandigarh, March 30

Coaching Centre DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, beat Guru Nanak Khalsa Senior Secondary School, Sector 30, 25-14 to enter the men’s final of the Senior State Handball Championship here today. 

Sunil Kumar scored seven goals, while Manavpreet Bawa added six goals to the DAV’s tally.  

For Guru Nanak School, Guneet scored a maximum five goals, while Mithun chipped in with four goals.

In the second semifinal, Coaching Centre Government Model Senior Secondary School (GMSSS), Sector 23, overcame Hand Ball Coaching Centre DAV Senior Secondary School (team B) 26-22.

Abhishek and Deepak scored seven goals each for the winners, while Abhishek Thakur alone scored 11 goals for DAV B team. 

In the women’s category, Hand Ball Coaching Centre DAV Senior Secondary School, Sector 8, overcame Coaching Centre Government Model Senior Secondary School, Sector 23, 16-15. 

The two teams were tied 12-12 at the end of the regulation time before DAV girls triumphed in the extra time.
