Dawar launches Ayushman Bharat in dist

The health insurance scheme — Ayushman Bharat-Sarbat Sehat Bima Yojana — was launched across the state today.

It was launched in the district by Ludhiana (Central) MLA Surinder Dawar.

The scheme will benefit 43 lakh families in the state and around 4,49,000 families in Ludhiana district.

Dawar said under this health insurance scheme, 2,18,000 SECCs (socioeconomic cast censuses) families, 1,66,000 blue card holders, 40,000 farmers, 10,000 small traders and 15,000 construction workers had been added.

He said the government had signed an agreement with the IFFCO-Tokyo Insurance Company regarding the scheme.

Under this cashless insurance scheme, a family can get up to Rs 5 lakh cashless treatment annually.

The scheme has been signed with 16 government and 26 private hospitals in Ludhiana.

He added that a golden card was being issued to beneficiaries under the scheme.

The scheme will be very beneficial for the welfare of the people of the state and people will be able to lead a secure life.

He directed officials of the Health Department to install banners of the scheme and set up help desks in the empanelled hospitals for the information of people.

Assistant Civil Surgeon Dr Balwinder Singh said under the scheme, 9,000 community service centres had been opened by the government to register beneficiaries.

He said e-card would be issued to successful persons so that they would be able to avail of the benefits of the scheme.

He added that to know his name is there in this list, they could visit any common service centre or contact toll-free number 104 or website www.shapunjab.in.

Dr Balwinder Singh said information could also be obtained from the nearest health institute.

Health scheme cards were also distributed among eligible beneficiaries.
