Defence Accounts Department head visits Ladakh region

JAMMU: Sanjiv Mittal, CGDA (Controller General of Defence Accounts), who is the head of the Defence Accounts Department, visited Ladakh region to take a first-hand information of the progress and difficulties in the region and to have a dialogue with the top brass of the Army and the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) in the Ladakh sector.

Jammu, September 11

Sanjiv Mittal, CGDA (Controller General of Defence Accounts), who is the head of the Defence Accounts Department, visited Ladakh region to take a first-hand information of the progress and difficulties in the region and to have a dialogue with the top brass of the Army and the Border Roads Organisation (BRO) in the Ladakh sector. He was accompanied by DR Negi, PCDA (NC) and PL Negi, IFA (BR).

Lt Gen Yogesh Kumar Joshi, GOC, Fire and Fury Corps, and other officers of the headquarters Fire and Fury Corps, Leh, also discussed various financial and accounting matters pertaining to prompt ‘service to the services’ in such a hard and inhospitable environment. He further emphasised on the importance of better synergy between the Defence Accounts Department and the Services. Sanjiv Mittal, CGDA, also visited various Border Roads projects, including Rohtang Tunnel, where the respective Chief Engineers gave a detailed account of their projects. During his visit, the CGDA visited and held a discussion with the commanding officer of the base headquarters to familiarise with the activities at Siachen glacier and the training requirements of the Army personnel deployed there.
