Delhi man held in loan fraud case

The cyber crime police today arrested a person in a loan fraud case. They have started investigation to arrest other members of the gang who used to lure residents to apply for loans at a cheap interest rate.
SSP, Special Task Force (STF), Sadanand Datte told mediapersons here that Dewang Gandhi, a resident of Sahaspur, had filed a police complaint that the accused duped him of Rs 15 lakh on the pretext of getting a loan at a low interest rate sanctioned.
A police team comprising sub inspectors Ved Prakash Thapliyal, and Vinod Charan and constables was formed to solve the case. Datte said mobile phones of the accused were kept under surveillance and the police team contacted its informers to find his whereabouts.
Acting on a tip-off, the police team went to New Delhi and arrested the kingpin of the racket identified as Ashish Dubey, a resident of New Delhi.
Dubey ran a call centre in New Delhi and lured residents by offering to arrange loans at much cheaper rates for them. He charged a heavy commission from them for sanction of loans. Dubey was sent to jail while investigation was on to nab his accomplices.
