As the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) is making arrangements for the inauguration, a group of victims today handed over a plate with names of  former Prime Ministers, Indira Gandhi and Rajiv Gandhi, demanding to get these engraved on the list of killers.

Leader of the 1984 Sikh Katl-e-aam Peerit Parivaar Atma Singh Lubana; Chairman of Gurdwara Shahid Ganj Tilak Vihar Mohan Singh and Babu Singh Dukhia demanded to write the names of Indira and Rajiv, “holding them responsible for the Operation Bluestar and killing Sikhs”, a statement issued by the DSGMC said.

Saying the DSGMC has no intention to hurt any person, Gurdwara Committee president Manjit Singh (GK) assured that they would think about their demand. The memorial’s design was approved by the working committee and there was hardly any idea to make a change in it, he said.

The memorial has 3,000 names who were killed during the riots, including two Hindus and one Muslim woman, who had sacrificed their lives while protecting the Sikhs.
