A 20-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide in south Delhi by hanging herself after her distant relative, with whom she was in a relationship, got engaged to another woman, the police said.
In her suicide note, the woman wrote that she held her relative Bittu responsible for the extreme step. Police have registered a case of abetment to suicide against him.
The incident was reported from Neb Sarai on September 6. Bittu is being questioned by the police in the case.
The deceased, Babita, was a resident of JJ Camp in Tigri. She was found hanging by her mother and brother-in-law who rushed her to hospital but she died there, police said.
In her suicide note, she wrote, "Bittu is solely responsible for my suicide. Mummy, please forgive me."
