After introducing yoga classes to the Delhi Police officials, the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport Police Station has been equipped with a gymnasium in an effort to control ever-expanding waistlines of personnel.
The swanky police station is not only equipped with gym, but also has many other facilities which can accommodate 150 policemen with 60 room and five barracks for the officials to rest.
Special Commissioner of Police Sanjay Beniwal, one of the fit officers in the force, said, “The police and CISF officials will avail themselves the facility of the gym here. This is India’s first
police station which equipped with hi-tech facilities.”
“We also have a conference room which can be converted into a war room, because airport is one place where lots of private and government organisations work together. There is the Intelligence Bureau, Customs, CISF, Air Force, Cabinet Secretariat and a small unit of National Security Guard (NSG). Therefore, it can be a command centre,” he added.
“The police station is further equipped with a laundry and a combined rest room as earlier the investigating officers had separate room for resting which was not appropriate. Here we have six barracks ehich vcan be used by traffic police and CISF personnel,” said DCP IGI Airport Sanjay Bhatia.
