CBSE result: Delhi pass percentage up by 2.87%

Delhi recorded a pass percentage of 91.87 per cent in the Class XII Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) examinations, an increase of 2.87 per cent compared to last year.

Virav Jindal and Mehak Talwar made the national capital proud by scoring 497 out of 500 marks and bagging all India third rank in the exams, results of which were announced on Thursday.

According to CBSE statistics, Delhi recorded a pass percentage of 91.87 per cent. It was 89 per cent last year.

Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his deputy Manish Sisodia congratulated students on Twitter.

"Congratulations parents, students and teachers. Congrats Delhi. Its a matter of pride for Delhi," Kejriwal tweeted.

Sisodia said, "Congratulations to all the teachers, parents and my dear students. You have made me feel proud".

The number of students appearing for the Class XII exams also rose from 2,13,487 to 2,38,729.

Delhi ranked third in terms of pass percentage after Trivandrum and Chennai.

Besides, Mata Gujri Public School located at Kailash Colony near Pahari Wala Gurdwara in South Delhi secured hundred per cent results with highest 97 per cent marks scored by Anmol Kaur in science stream, 97 per cent in commerce by Anjali Chandel and 93 per cent marks in arts stream scored by Ilma Syed.

Apart from this, 26 students out of 134 scored above 90 per cent marks, 80 students got distinction in different subjects and 127 students passed first division, two students secured 100 per cent in Economics, one students secured 99 per cent in Mathematics, two in computer science and one in Information Practice, one student secured 98 per cent in English, two students scored 97 per cent marks in Physical Education and one each in Business Study and Accountancy, four students secured 95 per cent marks in Physics one each in Chemistry, Biology and Music, highest marks in Home Science is 94, History and Political Science 93 and Punjabi 91.

Manav Sthali School in Rajender Nagar, too, claimed hundred per cent results with total subject-wise distinction 857, 19 students secured 95 per cent aggregate, 54 students got 90-95 per cent, 106 students secured 75 per cent to 90 per cent and 37 students scored between 60 per cent and 75 per cent.
