The DoE has asked the school to follow the orders under sub Section (3) of Section 24 of the Delhi School Education Act. The DoE acted against the school after it received complaints of arbitrary decisions taken by the schools over fee hike etc.

In its notice, the DoE has asked the school to comply with the directions issued by the Deputy Director Education (DDE) on determination of fees from the academic session 2009-10 to 2015-16, class-wise from entry class onwards, afresh, in accordance

with the orders and

guidelines issued by the DoE from time to time, and to refund the excess fee already charged from the parents.

According to the complaint, the school was not having a Parent Teacher Association (PTA). Hence, the directorate has asked the school to constitute the PTA in accordance with the rules set by

the directorate.

“The Presidium School has also been advised by the directorate not to increase fee/tuition fee for academic session 2016-17 without prior approval of the Director (Education) as the school is built on the Delhi Development Authority land,” read an official statement issued by the government.

The government has also directed the school to refund/adjust the increased fee, if any charged/collected from the parents and submit the proposal for fee/tuition fees in accordance with the order of the directorate.

The compliant said the school hiked fees in an arbitrary manner. The hikes were different for different classes and were more than the set limit of hike.
