Domestic help held for robbery

The Delhi Police crime branch today arrested a female domestic help Bhuvneshwari Kumari Shahi (30), resident of Nepal in Sarita Vihar involved in a robbery.

However, two of her associates involved in robbery are at large and various police teams of crime branch have been constituted to nab them, said the police. 

Recently, a robbery by domestic help and her two associates in Sarita Vihar was registered said the Deputy Commissioner of Police.

The maid along with her two associates planned the robbery and mixed sedatives in the food of an old lady and her daughter, thereafter, robbed the house by threatening and tying them by nylon zips, said the police. 

According to Deputy Commissioner of Police Ram Gopal Naik, she was hired as a maid just two days before the incident. The maid with her associate robbed Rs 88,000 cash, jewellery, four watches, passport and other documents of the complainant, screw drivers, nylon zips and one scooter used in crime recovered from her possession. 

On September 3, the complainant, aged 44 year, reported that on August 31, she hired a maid, Bhuvneshwari, from a placement agency. The next day, in the afternoon she ate some food and went to sleep along with her mother. Soon she heard some noise and saw that Bhuvneshwari was standing along with two persons. All the three accused persons threatened the complainant with dire consequences and subsequently, tied her with plastic strips, said the police. 

They asked her for cash and jewellery kept in the house and thereafter, they ransacked the whole house and fled away with cash, jewellery and other items, said the Deputy Commissioner of Police adding that the accused was arrested later.
