The executive board of the Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC) in its meeting today gave clearance to set up a new four colour machine for the printing of Sacred Shri Guru Granth Sahib, 14 per cent additional dearness allowance to staff and aid for schools and colleges in Jammu and Kashmir.
The executive board that met under the leadership of DSGMC president Manjit Singh GK also decided to start ambulance service from Gurdwara Sis Ganj Sahib and other historical gurdwaras of Delhi. It also decided to give an aid of Rs 10 lakh to two Khalsa Schools in Kashmir, Khalsa Education Society Srinagar and Guru Nanak Khalsa High School Baramula.
It also decided to donate two buses for school and college students of the Naushera area because due to recent natural calamity a bridge was washed away and the children of Sikh families living in the villages are facing lots of difficulties in reaching school and colleges.
The DSGMC staff had been demanding hike in wages due to inflation. In this connection, the executive board has decided to constitute a three member committee led by Mahinder Pal Singh Chadha to give a report in one month by comparing the wages of Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee, Amritsar, with wages offered by the DSGMC.
DSGMC general secretary Manjinder Singh Sirsa, vice-president Satpal Singh, joint secretary Amarjeet Singh Pappu, members Gurbachan Singh Cheema, Gurvinder Pal Singh, Hardev Singh Dhanoa, Kulmohan Singh, Kuldeep Singh Sahni, Jeet Singh, Manmohan Singh, Paramjit Singh Chandok, Rawail Singh and Jatinder Singh Sahni were present at the meeting.
