Controversial Guru Harkrishan Hospital located on the premises of Bala Sahib Gurdwara on Ring Road near Sarai Kale Khan has caused differences in the Shiromani Aklai Dal (Badal) that runs Delhi Sikh Gurdwara Management Committee (DSGMC).
National secretary of SAD, Kuldip Singh Bhogal who is active in Delhi said that the SAD-led DSGMC failed to meet its election assurance on running the 400-bedded hospital after winning the gurdwara committee election held two and a half years ago. The DSGMC is the actual owner of the hospital building. Its foundation stone was laid by Chief Minister of Punjab Parkash Singh Badal in 2000.
Addressing a conference, Bhogal said that the SAD had assured in its manifesto during the DSGMC election held in 2013 that starting Guru Harkrishan Hospital would be its priority if it won the election.
But the committee headed by Manjit Singh (GK) is showing no interest in taking possession of the building and its other wings, he said.
Bhogal said hospital's building was completed in 2004 and it was handed over to the DSGMC when Paramjit Singh Sarna was president of the committee.
