New Delhi, November 11
North Delhi BJP MP, Dr Udit Raj today adopted Jaunti village to develop it under the Union government's Adarsh Gram Yojna.
He said, "There are many villages in the constituency, but I have adopted only Jaunti as the villagers themselves have taken an initiative and shown interest in the development work. I will manage funds from the government and foreign agencies to provide all the basic and modern facilities."
Jaunti would be transformed into a modern village with the new age technologies and organic farming.
The village has also given three international players. One of them has won the Arjuna award and another got a gold medal in kabaddi. However, there is neither a proper transport facility nor a skill development centre in the village. The government approved a 50-bedded hospital, but it has not been constructed so far even though land was marked for it.
